Tritoria Foundation
In 2019, the brothers Jan and Øivind Lindstad transferred the majority of their wealth, 100% of the shares in Tritoria Finance AS valued at 1.3 billion NOK, to the Tritoria Foundation. The intention behind establishing the foundation was that future returns from the wealth would be used for charitable purposes in accordance with the foundation’s statutes.
About us
The Tritoria Foundation was established in 2019 by brothers Jan and Øivind Lindstad. Later that same year, they donated the majority of their wealth to the foundation by transferring their joint Norwegian investment company, Tritoria Finance AS, to the foundation.
Jan and Øivind Lindstad founded Compusoft AS in 1989. The company provides software solutions for kitchen and bathroom retailers and has consistently generated profits with annual dividend payouts. These dividends have benefited the Lindstad brothers and their investment companies.
Proceeds from Compusoft investment have been reinvested in other businesses, primarily in real estate and property development. These investments are currently managed by Tritoria Finance AS. Tritoria Finance AS is the head company in the Tritoria Group. Until 2019, the Tritoria Group was owned by Jan Lindstad and Øivind Lindstad through their private investment companies before the shares were donated as a gift to the Tritoria Foundation.
Purpose
The purpose of the Tritoria Foundation is to exercise stable and long-term ownership of the company Tritoria Finance AS and its underlying businesses, as well as to distribute funds for charitable purposes.
These purposes may include promoting education, research, sports, cultural exchanges, young entrepreneurship, religious organizations, missions, music, work with children and young people, public education, and causes that fight social injustice.
The foundation also has a long-term goal of achieving the greatest possible growth in real equity. This goal should be pursued, but it must be subordinate to the requirement that the group always maintains an unconditionally strong financial position.
Distributions for the foundation’s purposes are also subordinate to the requirement that the group always maintains an unconditionally strong financial position. Read more about the foundation’s statutes here.
